Each school year, there are plenty of new faces in the building, students and teachers alike. This year is no exception, especially after the consolidation of schools. Among the new faces is math teacher, Ms. Jennifer Tech.

Ms. Tech teaches Algebra II as well as Honors and AP Statistics. She joins the math department on the second floor, teaching in rooms 207 and 219 throughout the day.

Ms. Tech attended Penn State Behrend, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in accounting. She went on to attend Mercyhurst University where she received an advanced certificate in accounting. She also obtained her Master’s of Education from Edinboro University. She previously taught business and accounting classes to adult students at the Great Lakes Institute of Technology.

Even though she joined the staff soon before the start of the school year, she felt welcomed and accepted right away. “Everyone told me where to go, where to find things if I needed, and everything like that,” Ms. Tech said.

She enjoys the teaching profession, finding educating students to be very rewarding. Her favorite thing about her job is getting to know the students on an individual basis, and helping them accordingly.

Her students have also enjoyed their time with her so far, finding her classes to be enjoyable.

“She is easygoing and more than willing to help you,” senior Delina Asgedom said. “She makes class fun, even though it’s math. She wants us to succeed.”

Apart from being a teacher and looking after high school kids throughout the day, Ms. Tech is a mom of three younger children. After school, she follows their schedules and drives them around.
