Megyn Kelly, who was a journalist for Fox News, is now joining the NBC News team. Not only will she have her own daytime show, but she will also be anchoring a Sunday night news show and take part in special political programming and other breaking news coverage.
As many people know, Fox News is a more conservative, right-leaning organization, and NBC News is a more liberal, left-leaning news program. So, how will Megyn Kelly fair at NBC with her conservative views? Many people think that it was a good move for her, and that she will be able to reach a broader audience.
Prep senior Nick Frisina said, “I think this was the right move for her. She’s a great journalist and was ready to move on to something new.”
Kelly, who is 46 years old, is the second most watched Fox News anchor after Bill O’ Reilly. She spent 12 years at Fox News and although she will be missed, they all know this is the best move for her. All of the Fox News team wishes her the best, and say that they are excited to see how bright her future becomes. “I can be smart and challenging while I wear spaghetti straps, and everyone is just going to have to get their heads around that,” which goes to show how much women looked up to Megyn Kelly. She also had controversy with Donald Trump, which also added a twist to the Fox News team.
Fox News will miss Megyn Kelly, but NBC is bringing her in with open arms. Her conservative views will add a twist to NBC, and she will be able to reach a different audience than the one that tunes in to Fox.
