Prep clinched the Region title, winning the game on a walk-off walk to best McDowell 5-4. Chris Smith went five innings giving up three hits and zero earned runs while striking out seven. He also had a pair of hits. Hunter Orlando had two hits and drove in a pair while Tyler Oedekoven had two hits and scored three times.

The 2018-19 Cathedral Prep baseball team is getting ready to chase the championship this season. The seniors are trying to practice as much as they can, trying to make their last season as successful and fun as possible. The season begins on Saturday, March 23, when the baseball team travels to Beaver Falls, Pa., for their first game against the Blackhawk Cougars. Following that game, the boys will take their trip to Arizona and look to succeed out west.

“Going to Arizona, winning games, and spending time with the boys”, said senior Regan Schleicher, outfielder for the Prep baseball team, regarding what he is looking forward to this season. Regan is also excited to play alongside Rockne Seidel, pitcher for the baseball team, who is committed to go play D1 baseball at Canisius. The team is looking forward to playing together, building their team chemistry up with all the team practices, and traveling to Arizona together.

As the season is starting with the team getting ready everyone is looking forward to building a team bond and working as hard as they can for that state playoff run. The boys are ready to take any obstacle that comes to them.
