Cathedral Prep recently hosted its annual Open House, welcoming potential students and their families to explore everything the school has to offer. Visitors toured the building with current Prep students, who showed off some of the school’s most popular areas. One of the main highlights was the Salata Technology & Innovation Center, where creativity and collaboration are prominent through hands-on learning experiences. Guests got a look at the STEAM hub, visual arts studios, esports lab, and even got to try the food from the Student Life Center.
While the facilities were a big highlight, what truly stood out were the people. Cathedral Prep’s faculty, staff, and students showcased what it means to be a student at Prep. Teachers and coaches were available to meet parents and students, sharing how they help each student grow academically, personally, and spiritually. One of Prep’s math teachers, Mr. Payne, thought the event was a great success.
“It was wonderful to see so many new faces and to see so many of my students volunteering,” Mr Payne said. “Everyone was so nice. It was a blast to be a part of!”
The Open House also gave visitors a look at Prep’s curriculum, including their AP courses and specialized Academic Path Programs like BizPath, CivicsPath, MedPath, and STEMPath. Senior Eden Nies had the chance to teach visitors about the opportunities MedPath has to offer.
“I enjoyed having the opportunity to explain MedPath to potential interested students,” Eden said. “I think getting into a path is a great opportunity for new students.”
For anyone who wasn’t able to attend Prep’s open house, the school offers shadow visits where they can experience a day in the life of a Rambler.
