Open House set for Sunday, Oct. 31

Open+House+set+for+Sunday%2C+Oct.+31

Cathedral Prep will be hosting an open house available to middle school girls and boys this Sunday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This open house will preview the additions to Prep and showcase them on flatscreen TVs for all to see. Guided tours will be provided by both Prep and Villa students and will add additional information about the transition to a co-ed campus.

Many current students say that attending Open House was a key factor in their decision to come to Prep.

“I didn’t even plan on coming to Prep,” senior Jacob Majczyk said, “but my mom took me to the open house, and by the time I walked out, I knew I wanted to be a Rambler.”

“I always planned on coming to Prep,” junior Matthew Kalie said, “but after attending Open House, that sealed the deal.”

Kids around the school have been excited to show both men and women what Cathedral Prep is all about.

Vice President of Enrollment Management Mr. Dougherty spoke about what this open house will showcase as well as the obstacles he faces with all the construction that’s taking place on campus.

“Because the construction is not complete, we will not be able to highlight the E-sports lab or music studios like we wanted to,” Mr. Dougherty said. “However, we will be showing families videos and images and what that will look like.”

Mr. Dougherty also spoke about the benefits to attending the Open House.

“When you attend Open House, you’re able to see every little thing that Prep has to offer,” he said. “Every activity, every program, and every opportunity will be highlighted.”

He also added mentioned that every athletic program and their coaches will be in attendance as well as all teachers and administration.

Mr Dougherty stressed the fact that Open House is the best opportunity for parents and their kids to attend.

“When you want to come in for a visit, we’d have to make arrangements, and even then you’re not guaranteed to see every coach, every teacher or administrator, but if you attend Open House, you have all of those resources available to you.”

Open House is the best way parents and kids can learn about Prep and expand their knowledge on what Prep has to offer.
