At this year’s Cathedral Prep Club Fair, students were able to learn about all the unique opportunities at the school. Students were able to meet club leaders and find new ways to get involved. From environmental preservation to academic excellence, there was a club for everyone.
Rally Club is all about school spirit and bringing the energy and excitement to the student sections at sports games. The club’s mission is to reintroduce the sense of community among the students. Senior Lohan Mastrian, a member of the Rally Club emphasized the club’s focus on Cathedral Prep pride.
“People should join Rally Club to bring back good student sections and to bring back the community of Cathedral Prep,” Lohan said.
The Green Team takes the initiative in environmental efforts at school. Their work includes recycling programs and creative projects using up-cycled materials. Last year, the club implemented recycling in the cafeteria and crafted decorations like a Christmas tree made out of bottles. They also gave handmade Valentine’s cards to local homeless shelters and nursing homes. Senior Sarah Teed was on hand at the Club Fair on behalf of the Green Team.
“We focused on implementing the correct recycling,” Sarah said.
The National Honor Society is an invitation-only club for students who excel academically and have demonstrated leadership at Prep. While students can’t directly join, they can join by invitation based on their grades and extracurricular involvement. Because of the club’s requirements, it can stand on out college applications as well.
“If you keep really good grades and you’re just a hard worker, you’ll most likely get an application at the end of sophomore or junior year,” senior Nabaa Abdelnabi said. “It’s an honor to be in NHS, and it’s something you definitely want to try for.”
The club fair was a great way for students to see what Cathedral Prep has to offer and find new ways to get involved with the school and the Prep community. Whether it’s through school spirit, helping the environment, or aiming for academic recognition, there’s a club for everyone to get involved!
