Anne-Catherine Brown is a dedicated and active member of the Prep community, balancing athletics, academics, and extracurricular activities with a strong sense of purpose.
Anne-Catherine is a junior who chose Prep largely because of her family’s connection to the school. “A lot of my family has gone through the system,” she said, “and my parents being coaches here was definitely a big factor.”
Beyond family ties, she was drawn to the community, faith, and the balance of academics and athletics that Prep offers.
Sports are a big part of Anne-Catherine’s life at Prep. She’s a key member of the cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams. Her accomplishments include being part of a team that has won state championships in cross country twice and achieving runner-up once. “It’s really about the team,” she said, emphasizing how her teammates have supported her and become like sisters to her.
Outside of athletics, Anne-Catherine is also involved in the Green Team Club and student council. She joined the Green Team as a freshman because of her friends’ involvement and quickly found it to be a great fit for her schedule. Her commitment to environmental efforts and her leadership within the club have grown since then.
Balancing such a full schedule is no small challenge, but Anne-Catherine handles it with ease. She credits her teammates for keeping her motivated and focused.
“It’s not just about me. I’m doing it for my teammates,” she said.
This sense of purpose she’s been able to find has been able to help her maintain her priorities and achieve her goals, both on and off the field.
As she continues going to Prep, Anne-Catherine hopes to keep up her already strong GPA, as well as continuing to earn first honors while still pushing herself in track. Her advice for students looking to follow in her footsteps? “Find friends and teammates who support you and make sure your heart is really in what you’re doing.”
