Kindness is a necessary element people need in their lives. Mrs. Beuchert knew the importance of kindness from a young age. Her first grade teacher, Mrs. Barker, was so kind everyday. This played an influential role in why Mrs. Beuchert wanted to become a teacher.
“As long as people continue to spread kindness, the world will be a better place,” Mrs. Beuchert shared. “Being kind is so important, and I want to set that example to the kids I teach. That was a huge reason for me becoming a teacher.”
There are many challenges that come with the teaching profession. Everyone has their own way of dealing with challenges. Mrs. Beuchert shared her mindset with facing challenges, in and out of school.
“Every day is a new day,” she said. “You can look at it as a new day to try and be better. I view interactions with students and the questions they ask as a way for me to grow and learn.”
Her words of wisdom are truly credible as Mrs. Beuchert has been teaching for 23 years. All 23 years have been at Prep and Villa. Countless memories hold special meaning, whether it’s everyday interactions or large events. It all adds up to create a notably unforgettable time spent while teaching.
“When kids get the connection of the material you’re presenting, it makes every bit of time that was spent, worth it,” Mrs. Beuchert shared. “This special feeling is especially strong at Prep and Villa. The sense of community and being able to share our faith really makes this a special place to teach at.”
Health, P.E, Freshmen Seminar, and Nutrition and Wellness are the current courses Mrs. Beuchert teaches. This translates into her personal hobbies, such as her love of walking. Mrs. Beuchert shared that going on walks, as well as family time, helps with the workload and stress that her job can bring. Along with this de-stressing advice, Mrs. Beuchert also shared life advice for students.
“You can learn all the information in the world, but one of the most important lessons to learn is kindness,” she said. “Kindness is what we need in the world. All the other information you learn in high school is very important, but it means nothing if you leave here without learning the importance of kindness. It truly does go a long way.”
