The Cathedral Prep soccer team took on the visiting Blackhawks in a state playoff game. This game was played on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Fairview High School where the Ramblers were considered the home team.
This was an impressive night for junior forward Jack Foht, as he scored three of the Ramblers’ four goals. These three goals helped him beat the school’s single season goal record, which was 51. Jack has 52 goals on the year and still has up to two more games to increase his total on the season.
He is proud of his accomplishments. “Our team has been unbelievable this season, going undefeated, winning District 10, beating McDowell twice,” Jack said. “It’s been very enjoyable, but we still have a lot of work to do. It feels great to break the record, and I’m proud to have such great teammates right along with it.”
The whole soccer team has their eyes set on states for the year and are fighting hard for their goal.
“I think the reason why our team is playing so well is because of how hard we work every day,” said captain Jared Nash. “We go to practice and work hard and then this shows on the field. So I think we have a good chance on making it to states this year.”
The next game for the Cathedral Prep soccer team will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9. They play against Franklin Regional at Slippery Rock High School at 2 p.m.
