With March just right around the corner, spring sports are not too far away. To be able to have more sports again this year is a great thing to see and have for the student-athletes. Some certain sports this year seem to really have some great senior leaders who could take them far this season. Spring sports at Prep include baseball, lacrosse, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.
The lacrosse team has a ton of senior leadership this year, including Caleb Noble, Justin Corsale, Ryan McKinsey, Jonathon Zambroski, Zach Shchouchkoff, Austin Faulkner, Dominic Peterson, Philip Ferrare, Connor Ginn, and Andrew Burton.
With all these seniors taking the field this team will definitely be a step ahead in their experience over most teams. This could make for a long run for the Ramblers lacrosse team this season.
Senior Caleb Noble spoke on what this season could hold for the squad.
“This year will definitely be more of a risk with the pandemic and [there are] some things we cannot do, but we will still make the most of our senior season to the best of our abilities,” Caleb said. “I am ready for this season, as it has felt like I have not played for Prep in a long time. This season will definitely be one to remember, and our senior class has a lot to prove this season. Watch out for the lacrosse team this year.”
The baseball team is another group that has some senior leadership with Ryan Tomczak, Jack Malec, Austin Moore, and Joe Amann. The junior class brings in a big group this year as well with Cole Constable, Mason Orlando, Maddox Stadler, Patrick Sullivan, Reece Colvin, Alex Vahey, Jake Slater, Jacob Cooper, and Jacob Engle. The seniors will lead this team with a lot of talent right behind them all season long.
Senior Ryan Tomczak commented on what the season holds for this year’s baseball team.
“The team we have this year is very competitive and one of the most competitive teams I have seen since being at Prep,” Ryan said. “I am very grateful we could have a season this year with all of my teammates. I believe we could make a far run this season and compete for a state championship.”
All of Cathedral Prep’s spring sports will have a good chance to win a championship because that is mindset at this school. Prep’s student-athletes all want to win and win big. This year’s spring season should feature a lot of action with all the spring teams being able to play this year.
