The Cathedral Prep football team opened their season last Friday with an astounding 55-0 win over Perry. The Ramblers were led by a great defensive game causing five turnovers and making it very easy for the Ramblers offense to do their part.

The team was led by senior running back Jake DeHart who had four scores on the ground. The Rambler football team faces city rival, Strong Vincent, this Friday at Veterans Stadium at 7 p.m. To get the players views on the upcoming game against Strong Vincent, we interviewed four Rambler seniors: Alex Greenawalt, James Joint, Felix Manus, and Jake DeHart. With the help of my co-reporter Connor “Coon” Van Hove, here is the much anticipated Q&A:

The Rambler: Do you think your success against Perry will be a sign of things to come in your upcoming games?

Alex: I think that would obviously be the case here, Joe, wouldn’t it?
James: I mean, of course, why not? We’re great and we’re better than anyone else in this region.

The Rambler: What things do you need to improve on to be more successful and pull the win out against SV?

Alex: I need the rock.
James: Greenawalt needs the rock.

The Rambler: Are you guys worried about potentially looking past Strong Vincent, given your winning history against them in recent years, and looking towards Lake Catholic?

Alex: Uh, no. We approach every team with the same intensity.
James: Our approach is to always take it one game at a time and never look past any opponent because anything can happen on any given Friday.

The Rambler: What player on Strong Vincent are you most worried about?

Alex: I’m not worried about anyone. I’m just looking for big hits on [Strong Vincent quarterback] Chris Starocci.
James: I don’t know because I feel like every player we have is far superior to there’s.

The Rambler: If you score a touchdown, what will your celebration be?

James: I am going to simply hand the ball back to the referee because I’ve been there before so I will act like it.
Alex: Arian Foster’s “namaste” because I haven’t been there yet this season.

The Rambler: DeHart, I know you had a phenomenal game Friday night against Perry. Does this rank as the best game of your high school career?

Jake: No, last year against Bishop McDevitt would probably have to be it.

The Rambler: Felix, I know you’re a lock-down corner. Who do you look forward to guarding against SV?

Felix: It’s Manus Island. No one is allowed on.

The Rambler: Jacob, is there any team you look forward to playing this year other than obviously McDowell?

Jake: Um, no.

The Rambler: Felix, are you nervous for a potential letdown against SV considering the game against Lake Catholic will be highly touted?

Felix: No because we’re not going to look past SV. We could, but we won’t.

The Rambler: Jake, how many touchdowns are you going to score against SV?

Jake: I don’t want to score more than five. But I wouldn’t count it out though.

The Rambler: Fee, old dominion reportedly is looking rough. Is that true?

Felix: We’re going to have a better record than Notre Dame, so that should tell you everything you need to know.
