Opinion: The best foods I ate at Disney World

Opinion%3A+The+best+foods+I+ate+at+Disney+World

Disney World is known for its attractions, the fireworks and the memories you make with your family. For me, one of my favorite parts of Disney World is all the amazing food they have to offer. With over 200 places to eat throughout the property, they have multiple cuisines for guests to try out. After going to Disney with the show choir, I narrowed down some of my favorites and took pictures to document them. I also included where to get them, what the food was, and why they were so good.

Al Forno Eggs

Park/Resort: Disney’s Boardwalk

Where is it: Trattoria al Forno

What is it:

Eggs, Polenta, Fennel Sausage, and Tomato Sauce served in a skillet with Toasted Bread.

Why get it: I was hesitant to get this dish at first, but I ended up really enjoying it. All of the ingredients tied together well, and I used it as a dip for the bread pieces.

Iced Coffee

Park/Resort: Disney’s Boardwalk

Where is it: Trattoria al Forno

What is it:  Trattoria al Forno’s special blend of Artisan Coffee served with Ice and Cream.

Why get it: This might be one of the best iced coffee’s I have ever had. It had the perfect balance between sweet and bitter. It also never tasted watered down, which is a problem I frequently have with iced drinks.

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl

Park/Resort: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Where is it: Backlot Express

What is it: Rice, Teriyaki Chicken, Edamame, Carrots, Red Peppers, and Onions topped with Lemon-Tahini-Chipotle Vinaigrette and Sesame Seeds.

Why get it: This is a good option if you want to eat something other than your basic them park food. The bowl is filled with tons of vegetables and the teriyaki sauce on the chicken tied in with them very well.

Wookie Cookie

Park/Resort: Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Where is it: Backlot Express

What is it: Two Oatmeal Cookies with Vanilla Filling topped with a Milk Chocolate Sash.

Why get it: First off, this cookie is absolutely adorable. Secondly, it was very delicious. Although some ice cream would have been nice in the middle, this cookie was humongous and boosted my blood sugar for the day.

Dinner at ‘Ohana

Park/Resort: Disney’s Polynesi Dinner at ‘Ohana an Village Resort

Where is it: ‘Ohana

What is it: A Hawaiian-Flavored dinner with Mixed Greens Salad, Signature ‘Ohana Bread, Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings, Pork Dumplings, the ‘Ohana Dinner Skillet (Teriyaki Beef, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, Grilled Chicken, ‘Ohana Noodles, Stir-fry Vegetables) and ‘Ohana Bread Pudding.

Why get it: This is one of the best and most unique dining experiences you can find at Disney World. All of the food had an amazing balance of savory and sweet, and I walked out of the restaurant with a very full stomach.

Birria Tacos

Park/Resort: EPCOT, World Nature Pavilion

Where is it: Sunshine Seasons

What is it: Three tacos filled with Beef, Monterey Jack, Onions, Cilantro, and Lime served with Consommé.

Why get it: Birria tacos are my boyfriend and I’s favorite food, so I wanted to get them while I was at Disney. These tacos did not disappoint, as they were super juicy and delicious.

Frushi

Park/Resort: EPCOT, Japan Pavilion

Where is it: Hanami (Flower and Garden Festival Food Stand)

What is it: Strawberry, Pineapple and Lychee wrapped in Coconut Rice and a Pink Soy Wrap.

Why get it: If you like fruit served to you in the cutest way possible, this is the snack for you. Along with its awesome appearance, they were super tasty and not to sweet.

B.L.A.T

Park/Resort: Disney Springs

Where is it: Chicken Guy!

What is it: Chicken Tenders, Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado Crema, Tomatoes, and Ranch

Why get it: I have been dreaming about this sandwich since I went to Disney last. This sandwich has the perfect ratio of BLT ingredients plus perfectly seasoned chicken and delicious sauces.

Beignet Caramélisé, Fourré Crème Vanille, Glacé au Caramel Fleur de Sel

Park/Resort: EPCOT, France Pavilion

Where is it: Fleur de Lys (Flower and Garden Festival Food Stand)

What is it: A Caramelized Beignet filled with Vanilla Cream

Why get it: The France Pavilion has some of the best baked goods in the park. So, I wanted to try something that was there for only a limited time. This beignet did not disappoint. It was warm, sweet, and had a perfect crunch from the caramel brûlée on top.

Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich

Park/Resort: Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Where is it: Sleepy Hollow

What is it: Strawberries, Banana, Blueberries, and Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread served in a waffle

Why get it: My mom always wanted to try this waffle, and we finally got it. This waffle can be a snack or dessert and has a perfect balance of fruit and chocolate.
