Cathedral Prep iPad Game Hall of Fame

Cathedral+Prep+iPad+Game+Hall+of+Fame

Little do the underclassmen know, there was a time when students at Cathedral Prep were allowed to have games on their iPads. After two school years of not being able to game or download apps, students are still complaining to faculty members in hopes to gain back their iPad freedom. With no sight of the App Store returning, The Rambler decided to take a moment to remember the games that were and induct them into the Cathedral Prep iPad Games Hall of Fame.

Below are the Hall of Fame games (in no particular order).

N.O.V.A. 3
N.O.V.A. 3 is a first-person shooter game, based in outer space, where you can play online, or against other players connected to the same WiFi. This was very fitting seeing as how during school hours, students were all connected to the same WiFi and could play multiplayer games online with friends in other classrooms.

Flappy Golf
Flappy Golf was another addicting multiplayer or single player game, where one tries to get to the hole in the fewest flaps, just as you would in regular golf. Flappy Golf is based upon the 2013 hit game, Flappy Bird. With over 52 courses and the ability to play against friends, during school, this was a smash hit for Cathedral Prep students.

Ballz
Ballz is a game where you try to break as many numbered bricks with “Ballz” before they hit the bottom. Prep senior and Ballz champion Andrew Czarnecki said, “I played the game Ballz so often that I easily had the highest score at Prep. I could set off the Ballz, eat dinner and shower, and by the time I came back, the Ballz would just be finishing.”

NBA 2K
A mobile version of one of the most famous game series of all time, NBA 2K, has the same features as the Xbox or PlayStation would. NBA 2K mobile has features where you can build your own character and journey along through your “MyCareer” mode. Seeing as how the game was $5.99 students would not want to pay for this game, but the students who did pay were lucky. NBA 2K was not a game where everybody was able to play, but it was a game where everyone wanted to play.

Madden Mobile
This is another mobile version of yet another famous game series. Madden Mobile and NBA 2K were similar in many ways, except obviously different sports. In Madden Mobile, players became the general manager of an NFL franchise where you draft, trade, or sign the best players for your team. Then after your roster was set, you would play an entire NFL season in hopes of winning the Super Bowl.

Minecraft
Minecraft is a simulation game where you explore and create different worlds of your choosing. Minecraft is currently the number 1 simulation game on the App Store. This just shows how popular it is, not only at Prep, but all over the world.
