Everyone who listens to the radio while they drive or keeps up with popular music knows that popular songs come and go very fast. Some songs stay in radio rotation longer than others, but most songs that were popular at one time eventually fall off the radar.
A good example of this could be a song like “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap. That song was the most popular song in the country when it came out and now it is only played once in a while as a throwback. Another recent example is “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X. It broke records with its reign as the hottest song in the country, but now you almost never hear it at all. Some songs throughout history, though, can be labeled “timeless.”
Although this topic is slightly opinionated, I would think it’s safe to say that Kanye West makes up a portion of these timeless songs. Songs like “Gold Digger” and “Stronger” that came out in 2005 and 2007 are still played on the radio today. Not to mention, they are in a lot of Spotify and Apple Music playlists. These songs feel as though they never get old because of their catchy hooks and upbeat instrumentals.
There are plenty of songs by various artists that also fit this description. “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, “No Diggity” by Blackstreet, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses, “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, etc. If I listed all of the timeless songs I would go on forever. Certain tunes live on forever and these are some examples of timeless songs.
