Senior Bryce Kalie is a staff writer for The Rambler.
“When it comes to writing, I like to write about sports and main events going on in the world right now,” he said. “I find a lot of interests in all sports.”
Bryce says having Journalism as a class as a way to write about his personal interests is a really cool experience, and that writing for Prep and Villa is a very good thing for him.
“Writing for Prep is something I’ve wanted to do,” he said. “It’s also very beneficial because of all the different skills you learn in the class.”
Interviewing is one of the important skills of journalism he is working on as a member of The Rambler staff.
“I think being able to sit down and interview someone is a skill, and not many people can actually do it,” he said. “So being able to work and perfect those skills is very beneficial.”
Lastly, the influence of Prep on Bryce was discussed.
“Prep has helped me become more of a man,” he said It’s taught me that nothing in life is going to be fair, and you have to make the most of it.”
Bryce even quotes professional boxer Mike Tyson, saying, “Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but nonetheless doing it like you love it.”
This quote stands out to Bryce since not everything you do in life you will like, but Prep has taught him the importance of determination and hard work.
