This Thursday will determine whether Prep can inch closer to the goal that everyone has in mind. The Ramblers will be facing the McDowell Trojans after tying them at Gus Andersen Field, followed by a victory by Prep at the CPEC. Both games showed an outstanding effort by Prep. In the win over McDowell, a last minute goal was kicked in by the Ramblers right in front of the Trojans’ net. Prep continued with a massive celebration with all the students that were cheering the squad on.
McDowell has not forgotten the bittersweet loss to the Ramblers just a few weeks ago. The Rambler soccer team and senior goalie Oliver Weisner is confident that they can finish this job. As an underclassman, Oliver played the field and had much success with it. With the loss of the outstanding goalie, Joe Bloomstine, the Ramblers were in need of someone to protect the net. Oliver has really stepped up as a leader and has helped this team with many shutout games.
The Rambler asked Oliver what  the team has to do in order to get the win tomorrow and he replied, “We need to play as a team, stay calm, and work hard. If we do that, the win will come easily.”
This Rambler team is very young, and when asked who he thinks is going to step up and make a difference, Oliver said, “Key players are superstar midfielder, Tommy Russo, delirious defender Keegan Farver and the secret off-the-bench weapon, Sean Reed.”
Finally, when asked what he thinks the Ramblers can accomplish in their playoff run, he replied, “I think we’re more than capable of winning D10 and even making a playoff run. We don’t want to get too far ahead so we’re only focusing on D10 for now, but I think we’re capable of accomplishing much in the postseason, at least far greater than the past two seasons.”
The Ramblers have shown much strength in the second half throughout this season. They are going to need support from their fellow classmates so they can continue their run in the post season. The games is at 7 p.m. tonight, so get out and cheer on the Ramblers!
