Michael Covatto knows what it means to be a man of Prep. Covatto enrolled at Cathedral Prep in 2009 and graduated in 2013. He chose to attend Prep because it was a family tradition, and he felt they had a great academic program, as well as the brotherly bonding.
Covatto was a part of the Rambler football team. During his senior year, he suffered a severe ankle injury which ended his football career at Cathedral Prep. Covatto’s best memory while attending Cathedral Prep was the family-like atmosphere. He described the brotherhood as supportive and uplifting.
Covatto’s favorite teacher was Mr. Ng. “Mr. Ng was a devoted teacher and a sensitive individual,” he said. “He always was able to keep me smiling, gave great advice and was always available to talk to and kept our conversations confidential. Mr. Ng was a true man of God.”
After graduating from Cathedral Prep, Covatto wanted to pursue his dream in construction and work hands on. He is known for being the “handyman” around his house because he is good at repairing things.
Covatto said after he graduated from Cathedral Prep he continued to grow as a man of Prep. From going to Mass and staying closer to God to applying his time to his studies, lessons he learned at Prep helped make college life easier. He attended Mercyhurst University, majoring in architecture.
In his spare time, he enjoys fishing with his buddies, canoeing at Presque Isle, and listening to rap and country music. Some of his favorite artists are Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, and Luke Bryant.
His favorite foods are spaghetti and meatballs and pizza.
Covatto still keep in contact with his friends from high school, and every once in a while invites them over for a bonfire. Covatto’s favorite movie is The Patriot.
In his spare time he likes to play Fortnite and Battle Field on PS4. He is definitely a gamer.
Covatto said, “[I] would like to travel to Key West Florida to go fishing and snorkeling because Key West is a hotspot for fishing, and [I] would enjoy the beautiful warm weather.”
Covatto’s favorite quote is from Vince Lombardi: “winning is not everything, but wanting to win is.” This quote stresses the importance of reaching a goal no matter what effort is required
