Cathedral Prep men’s soccer strong season ends

Cathedral Prep is a school not only known for its academic excellence but also for some of the best sports teams in the nation. Recently the Prep men’s soccer team made a strong playoff run. Prep throughout the last couple years has been well known for being a force on the soccer field, and they lived up to their name this year.

Although the men’s soccer team fell short of their state championship goals this year, they had a very impressive season. Going 17-2-1, the Ramblers won 88 percent of their games. Although they fell short in the state semifinals, they had so many highlights this year. Talking to senior Vincent Padalino, he said the highlight of his year was the big win against Moon in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. Also traveling to Albany, New York, early in the year, the Ramblers took down the #15 team in the country. All of these memories will last forever to the players he says.

Going through the playoffs the men’s soccer team wanted to prove themselves. Vincent touched on what their coach told them.

“This playoff run will either be the best thing that’s happened to us or the worst thing that’s happened to us.”

This shows how much the Ramblers desire to win was.

“Going through the playoffs we had a chip on our shoulder,” Vincent said. “Not in a bad way, but a sneaky confidence.”

Although the men’s soccer team will lose a couple amazing senior assets for next year’s team, they still aspire to make a historical run next year as well.
