This week, the staff of The Rambler was hungry, so they wrote about a meal they could eat for the rest of their lives without ever getting sick of it. Read about their meals of choice below.

I could eat black bean burgers the way that my dad makes them for the rest of my life. They have different beans, carrots, jalapeños, and other shredded vegetables all mixed together with oats and flour to make a patty that is a spicy, self-contained salad. However, it truly shines after you fry it in olive oil to create a crispy, spicy, tangy meal. Pile on some ketchup, mustard, dill pickles, and spicy sauces (my favorite is the pineapple habanero) to create the ultimate burger. I like spicy foods in general, and this burger definitely fulfills my spice requirements. They take a good bit of preparation, but the result is so worth it. These burgers are absolutely my favorite meal—there are not many meals that come close.

One meal I could eat for the rest of my life is probably steak. Steak isn’t something that I have all the time, but it’s certainly something that I’ve never turned down before. Steak is also great with almost any side. I usually prefer to eat mine with green beans and potatoes. Not to mention, steak is an excellent source of protein.

If I could eat one meal for the rest of my life it would be cheese ravioli from Olive Garden with breadsticks and a black tie mousse cake. I eat this meal after every quarter ends to celebrate myself, and it is amazing. My other choices would be an Italian sub from Dominos or the spicy pink pasta my dad makes. Anything Italian pasta or Chinese would work as well.

One meal that I could eat for the rest of my life would be a Chipotle bowl. I feel like you get a good variety of nutrients in each bowl, and for the rest of your life, there are enough options to switch up your bowl so it doesn’t get old. For me, my go-to is double chicken, brown rice, queso, cheese, corn salsa, and sour cream. For me, simplicity is bliss, and that shows in my bowl. The nutrients combined with the taste creates an amazing combination for a happy, healthy bowl. I say it all the time and I’ll say it again, I think Chipotle is way better than Moe’s and always will be on my scale. You can find me at Chipotle at a minimum of three times per week, and I aspire to continue this quest!
One meal I could eat and never get sick of is my grandmother’s homemade pretzel sandwiches with ham and cheese (either American cheese or, better still, the cheese spread my grandma had in her pantry). As a younger child, I would help her twist the pretzels and brush them with baking soda and water mixture so that the salt stuck to the golden brown exterior. To accompany the sandwich, salt and vinegar kettle-cooked potato chips, and fresh fruit. For dessert, a recipe also from my grandmother: strawberry pretzel jello salad. This meal holds a lot of sentimental value and is also quite tasty, so I would have no problem eating it all the time.

One meal I could eat that I would not get bored of starts off with a grilled cheese. It’s a classic and perfect for me because I am a picky eater. What would a grilled cheese be without soup? My preference would have to be a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup, a dish I’ve enjoyed eating since I was a kid. To drink, I would have Sprite, the crispy and cold variety that almost stings to drink. To finish off with dessert, I would have a chocolate chip and walnut cookie.

If I had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of my life, I would choose a chicken parm sub with pepperoni , a side of fries, and a large Sprite. This sub is from Theresa’s Deli on green garden is great mix of flavors combined to make one of the greatest subs of all time. Now although you usually do not have pepperoni on a chicken parm sub, when added to the already fantastic sub, you get the Michael Jordan of subs. Even if you don’t eat it as a whole, you can separate the items and make them into others meals. This great sub can not go unnoticed: go try it now at Theresa’s Deli, located on the corner of 32nd and Greengarden.

One meal that I could eat for the rest of my life and not get sick of is pizza. The reason is there are different types of pizza and so many different places to get it from that I could get by with eating it every day. Most times pizza is pretty good no matter where you get it from, as it is hard to mess up pizza. However, a good slice is something that doesn’t get old. If you have a favorite pizza place, no one ever says, “No, I don’t want pizza tonight from there.” Overall, that is why I would choose pizza if I could only have one meal.

A meal I could always eat and never get sick of is my mom’s recipe, Cajun chicken pasta. It’s always a meal I make sure that I don’t eat anything a few hours before so I can eat as much as possible. She taught me how to make it, and I make it quite well but not as good as hers. She makes it a little over once a week and it’s always a dinner night I look forward to. I could seriously eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and still enjoy every bite.

One meal I could eat for the rest of my life would be sushi, because there’s so many variations of sushi. You can have a veggie sushi or with different types of fish. It is also healthy and has different sauces or dressing on sushi. And sushi is cheap, and you can get family platters. That is why I would choose to eat sushi for the rest of my life if I had to.

If I had to pick a meal I would never get sick of I would say sweet and sour chicken, specifically from Ling-Lings. Every Thursday, for years now, me and my father have gotten Chinese food. It’s basically a weekly tradition at this point, and I haven’t gotten tired of it yet. We always find some show or documentary series that we can watch together. The food is more a reminder of tradition and family to me, and it tastes pretty good too.

I would eat my grandmother’s lasagna forever and never get sick of it. I’ve always looked forward to family holidays because I knew I would be able to eat the lasagna. I’m always the first one in line to get food to make sure I can get a lot of it. I even have a process for getting it out of the pan without damaging the overall integrity of the lasagna. I am definitely fine with eating nothing but this lasagna forever.
