December is here, which means Christmas is on the minds of students. This week, the staff wrote about their favorite Christmas movie.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone 2: Lost In New York. An honorable mention would be Elf because it’s just a cult classic, but I love Home Alone 2 because every year for Christmas, my family goes to New York City, and I can kind of relate to the movie. Seeing all the landmarks Kevin passes by and the whole plan against the Wet Bandits is great for the holiday season. I always watch it on the way to NYC, and I have to watch it multiple times each Christmas.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. This movie is such a holiday classic and puts me right in the spirit of the season. The story is super charming and creative, and it keeps you engaged and always waiting on the edge of your seat. I love the full-circle ending when Kevin’s family returns home, and somehow it always makes me cry. This film just puts me in the best mood, and the soundtrack is so perfect and iconic.

My favorite Christmas movie? In my opinion my favorite Christmas movie is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. I love this movie. It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. If you want to watch a Christmas comedy, then National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is for you. I love watching this movie with my family during the holidays. It is a very good movie, and I would highly recommend it.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. This movie is my favorite because I think it has a very unique plot, unlike your usual Christmas movie. The movie is filled with with tons of nostalgia for me. I watched this movie a lot as a kid around the holidays. My favorite part of the movie is the entirety of Kevin protecting his house from the burglars.

My favorite Christmas movie is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. This movie is a heartwarming movie that tells a story of a young reindeer whose nose glows a shiny red. Other reindeer soon began to realize that Rudolph was different and didn’t look like them. They began to tease the young reindeer and call him names because of his nose. Rudolph then decides to run away and flee Christmas town due to the bullying; he finds Hermey the elf and befriends him. While on the journey they encounter the abominable snow monster and eventually end up knocking him out. Santa catches a glimpse of Rudolph’s shiny red nose and asks Rudolph to guide his sleigh through the night. This helped Rudolph gain a sense of confidence within himself. I love this movie because it reminds me of my childhood. My mother and I sit and watch this movie every year, and seemingly we never get board of it.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. That may be a very common answer, but I believe it is a worthy film to claim the title. The plot was fairly unique upon its release in 1990, and likely still would be if not for the sequels and knockoffs. The cast is largely made up of well-known actors and actresses, most of whom were very popular at the time. The film also has a great deal of nostalgia for me and many people, which I believe is a large part of why it is my favorite.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. I always grew up watching it at my dad’s house every Friday during December. I always enjoyed the humor and situations that Kevin McCallister found himself in. The original bandits are also very fun to watch get outsmarted by a child. Home Alone 2 is almost up there on my favorites list, but I would have to say that the original beats the sequel out.
