Waldameer Park originated in 1896 and was made for fun for all ages. Waldameer opens every summer and closes every fall. It’s a special place to let your inner child free.
On May 27, Waldameer reopened for the 2024 season. Memorial Day weekend was the weekend Waldameer reopened. Waldameer is an amusement park that consists of high-speed rollercoasters as well as a water park and kiddie rides. It’s truly a place where every individual can find something they enjoy. There’s even a water ride, where on a hot day individuals may go on to cool off! The name of this ride is Thunder River, and it’s a water rollercoaster with a tunnel of “thunder and lightning.”
Waldameer also features other rides, such as the classic bumper cars. These are a blast to bump individual’s friends and family. The reopening of Waldameer has all the kids chattering with excitement. It’s most certainly an important aspect of Erie and is special in many people’s hearts.
Waldameer also has a large variety of foods to choose from, including french fries, pizza, ice cream, funnel cakes, chicken strips, burgers, and a whole chocolate station.
In addition to the amusement park, Waldameer has a water park named Water World, and they have completed many new renovations in the past few years. With thrilling water slides, a wave pool, a kiddy area, and more, individuals will be living their best lives by the pool at Waldameer on a hot day. Erie citizens cherish Waldameer as it is a classic staple of the city in the summer.
