Mr. Pintea is currently one of the business teachers and the former boys volleyball coach at Prep. This is his second year and his longest teaching experience.
Mr. Pintea’s favorite things about Prep are the sense of history in our alumni and the traditions that we value and carry on.
Mr. Pintea teaches a variety of classes: Entrepreneurship, Accounting 1 and Accounting 2, Microeconomics. Macroeconomics, and Financial Planning. In these classes, he likes to maintain a relaxed environment while focusing on the students interests. He doesn’t mind stirring away from his original plans and says, “I like following the lead of the students.”
In the past, Mr. Pintea taught at many different schools. His first teaching experience came at the former East High School in 2015-2016. He additionally taught at Fort LeBoeuf as a full-time gym teacher (2016-2017), Erie High School as the Cosmetology teacher, and St. Jude as a middle school social studies and theology teacher (2021-2022).
In his free time, he enjoys attending Prep events.
“You can almost always catch me at any home volleyball game,” Mr. Pintea said.
In the summertime, Mr. Pintea enjoys going fishing, kaiaking, and sailing.
An additional message Mr. Pintea has for high school students, especially juniors and seniors, “Don’t look down on any of the paths in front of you.”
This essentially means that students should not simply settle for less or believe that they cannot do something. Do not simply accept something when you know you could do more, especially when applying to colleges.
