Open House is an annual opportunity for families to view the school and decide if it is suitable for their children. Prep’s Open House took place on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 12-3 p.m.
At Prep’s Open House, the school presented what Prep has to offer with the representation of classes, 28 different clubs, and 26 sports.
To Prep, Open House is a sense of community as almost every student volunteers and most staff are present every year.
President Kevin Smith says his favorite experience in Open House is “[seeing] the excitement of our guests.”
In comparison to other schools, Mr. Smith says, “Our school offers a sense of balance with many different opportunities for students.”
Prep takes pride in having a variety of different activities catered to student’s interests and letting students have a voice in what they want to experience. Not only does this apply to electives and clubs, it is also seen in our sports through challenge, expectation, and support.
Mr. Smith says that Open House is important to him because it lets Prep show off and invite people in to see how great Prep is. His best memory through the many years of Open House is being able to see the excitement of student volunteers to get food at the end.
For prospective students looking to apply to Prep in the future, it is advised to keep up with our schools website and attend our various events, such as theater and Ramblers Night Out.
For Prep, the admissions process is straightforward. Typically someone of interest will call the school or send an email, which will lead to direct communication and response to our admissions office. After this, they will fill out an application and students will take the entrance exam. This entrance exam will tell if the student is eligible to meet Prep’s academic standards and additionally may grant a scholarship.
