This week the staff wrote about what luxury would be the most challenging to live without.

The hardest luxury to live without in my life would be my phone. I use it to text, call, watch TV, and use social media. It makes me feel connected to my friends and other people because I can communicate with them through so many ways. I’m not addicted to my phone; I maintain a fairly good balance between my responsibilities and indulgences. My phone allows me to stay connected with people even if I am too busy to see them in person. This is especially true with my out of town family. I can text, call, and FaceTime them to keep in touch. I don’t really play games on my phone because I try to maintain that healthy moderation of my phone usage. However, if I have time, I do enjoy watching Netflix on my phone. Having a phone allows me to stay connected, express creativity, and enjoy the simple pleasures it brings.

I think the hardest thing for me to live without would be my car. Although it has had its multitude of problems, it has always gotten me from point A to B. I think my car is most important when it comes to my job. It’s an 11-minute drive away, so I couldn’t imagine having to find another way to get there. Both of my parents work as well, so I wouldn’t be getting free rides from them either. So other destinations like school, golf, or just leisurely places like the mall I would have to find different ways of transportation for. Without my car, my life would probably a lot more stressful than it is by having to find rides.
