Cathedral Prep junior Riley Hanlon is a smart and dedicated student who is heavily invested in the theater program. He has worked hard throughout his Prep career, earning top grades and leading school productions. He has even becoming Man of Prep. His passion for theatre has helped him develop on and off stage.
When asked why he chose to attend Prep, Riley said, “I just think it’s the best high school in the area, and my parents really wanted me to go,” he said.
Since joining, he has seized the opportunities available and made the most of his high school experience.
One of Riley’s biggest accomplishments is landing the lead role in the school’s production of Harry Potter. Being part of theater has taught him valuable lessons about teamwork, confidence, and perseverance.
“To me, it felt great,” Riley said. “I just think it’s a great learning experience and a way to work as a team, but also to have yourself be praised.”
Father Mike also thinks Riley has been a great addition to the theatre program.
“He trusts the theatrical process,” Father Mike said. “He works hard and is a great leader of his peers and fellow performers.”
In addition to theater, Riley takes great pride in his academics. He credits his teachers for helping him succeed in school.
“Almost all my teachers have helped me get the grades that I do,” Riley said. “Whenever I need help, they’re always there.”
In the future, Riley plans on continuing to improve his grades and strengthen his faith in God. To Riley, having his eyes on the future and making every day matter is important to him. For Riley, attending Cathedral Prep has been an excellent experience in that it allowed him to become a committed student who strives for excellence.
