After springing ahead and losing an hour this past weekend, our staff wrote about their stance on Daylight Savings Time.

I think we should keep daylights savings because I enjoy having more daylight in the evening. Winter is brutal with the sun setting so early, but that would happen regardless of daylight savings. When we switch the clocks during March, it makes me so excited because I know spring is almost here. Just like over this weekend, the weather seemed to get immediately nicer as we shifted the clocks. I can’t wait for the sun to set at 9 p.m. with a bonfire and s’mores until midnight in the summer.

I’m in favor of daylights savings time. Because in the summertime having as much sunlight as possible is better in my opinion because it gives more time to do stuff before it gets dark, whether it’s golf or just a casual hangout with friends. And when it’s winter, daylight really doesn’t matter as much to me only because it’s not like I’m going outside when its 20 degrees out. And although we don’t really need daylight savings time. We’ve lived long enough with it so there’s no point in getting rid of it. It doesn’t really affect people’s lives that dramatically, It’s more of a convenience or inconvenience in certain situations.
