Cathedral Prep recently hosted a “Fat Tuesday” bake sale. Four school clubs worked together to make the event a success. Members of the National Art Honor Society, Book Club, Baking Club, and Fiber Arts Club all contributed to the sale, offering a variety of delicious baked treats for people to buy.
The bake sale ran throughout the day, and students and staff enjoyed the chance to buy an assortment of baked goods that they could choose from. A total of $646 was raised, and all of the money will be donated to the Mercy Center for Women, a local nonprofit that helps women in need.
Angeline Terrizzi, a senior and member of the National Art Honor Society, hopes that the bake sale will be able to return next year.
“The treats we had were so good I almost bought one of everything,” Angeline said. “I hope that the clubs keep on having the Fat Tuesday Bake Sale for years to come.”
Crysstia Taylor, another senior who was also involved with the event, was also very excited about participating.
“It was so much fun participating in the bake sale again this year and seeing how much the school looks forward to it,” Crysstia said. “It was great to see how much money we were able to raise for our community.”
The bake sale was a wonderful way for the Prep community to come together for a good cause. And the clubs hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.
