The Cathedral Prep football team took on the Strong Vincent Colonels this past Friday, Sept. 6, at Veterans Stadium.
Prep, due to a sluggish start, struggled early and only went into the half leading 9-0. Prep came out firing in the second half though and ended up with a 43-6 victory to improve to a 2-0 (1-0) record. Strong Vincent fell to 0-2 (0-1).
The Ramblers were led in part by Billy Fessler who had a stat line that will make you double-check. The senior quarterback threw for 4 touchdowns and an eye-popping 239 yards. Fessler’s touchdown passes, included hookups of 21, 27, and 28 yards. He was spreading the wealth throughout by hitting six different receivers.
Prep outgained Vincent 421 to 104 in this intense matchup of region six ball clubs. Alex Greenawalt also had a phenomenal game with 2 second half touchdown scores. The Ramblers take on Ohio powerhouse Lake Catholic next week in what is sure to be a must watch game.
