It seems this year is already flying by for Prep’s senior class. With the concerns of homework, applying to college, and other activities, the class of 2019 certainly has their hands full.
“[I’m] stressed,” JROTC Corps Commander Bobby Boland said, “All the school work, applying to college, and everything else in my life…senior year has turned out to be more stressful than I had expected.”
While stress is an obvious factor for the graduating class, it seems that most students are handling it well, and even adapting to this environment. The remedy, it seems, for counteracting this stress is to just work hard and push through each obstacle.
“Honestly, I don’t feel stressed whatsoever,” senior Ian Sitzler said, “I feel like this year I’ve been able to handle the stresses of high school because I’m not worried as much as I used to be.”
“So far this year I feel as if I am more motivated to do good and to buckle down,” senior Tyler Iacobucci continued, “[I now know] how important it is to get good grades and how that will determine what college I go to.”
Besides the business and constant pressure of senior year, there’s a light to the end of the tunnel. Graduation is only months away, and the emotions of the Class of 2019 are definitely mixed.
“There’s been a lot going on and also a lot to be aware of,” senior Craig Palotas stated. “But overall, it’s exciting that I get to think about beginning a new chapter of my life.”
“[I’m] kind of relieved but also sad at the same time,” football player and senior student Colin Kelly stated.
“I’m happy, but I’m also scared that I’ll be leaving my brothers soon,” Rally crew member Andy Samuels said, “I’ve come to love this school, and I’m looking forward to finishing my academic career at Prep with all of the friends I’ve made along the way.”
