The Cathedral Prep annual tradition of the senior breakfast continued in the 2018-2019 school year on Wednesday. The senior breakfast is used as a way to compile all the seniors in a big group to interact and share any announcements as the school year is winding down.
With less than a week of school left for seniors, Prep has several events scheduled to get the seniors together before they go off into their future endeavors. On Wednesday, the 2019 class got together in the Prep cafeteria for one of the last times as a full group.
Each student received a breakfast meal, kindly paid for by Prep’s advancement office. Fr. Jabo and Mr. Steve Piotrowicz each talked to the group as the scholars finished up eating. Fr. Jabo’s message relayed a message of appreciating what Cathedral Prep has done for you, and how each one of the seniors can help in the future.
Mr. Piotrowicz had a message, advising the guys to live in the moment because “you will end up missing your days of high school.” He encouraged the group to reflect back on their time spent at Prep, and “realize everything this school has done for you academically, socially, spiritually, and possibly athletically.” He also made sure the students understand the little time they have left in their high school career, so be wise in making decisions, because one decision could ruin ruin it all.
Tyler Iacobucci, a Cathedral Prep senior that attended the senior breakfast, was asked about how the senior breakfast went. His answer was, “I think it was a great opportunity to spend some of the last days with the rest of my senior class, laughing and having a good time at the breakfast. It also put into perspective that our time here at Prep is coming to an end and reality starts to set in.”
