Over the summer, Cathedral Prep added a few more members to its faculty. One of its new member, Mrs. Natalie Miller, is a world languages teacher who specializes in Spanish. Her background in teaching involves many years of experience across the nation in states such as North Carolina and Michigan. “What I like about teaching is that I get to teach Spanish all day,” exclaimed Mrs. Miller. “I am thrilled that I get to share this language that I love with my students.”
Her enthusiasm isn’t the only thing she brings to Prep. She also brings a lot of prestige to the foreign language program. Experienced in teaching in a dual immersion school, she taught students in Spanish, and went on to start an ESL program and oversaw all Limited English Proficient (LEP) students as the chair of the program. She also has earned her B.A. from Cornerstone University in 2006 with a triple minor in Spanish. She later earned her Master’s of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Cornerstone in 2008. From there she studied Applied Linguistics at Oxford University in England. She has even traveled abroad to Spain and Mexico on three different mission trips.
But the most important things to Mrs. Miller are faith and making a positive impact on her students. “I decided to become a teacher first and foremost due to the Lord’s calling,” said Mrs. Miller. “Secondly, I really enjoy it, and hope to make a difference in my students’ lives.”
As one of the newest members of the Cathedral Prep family, the entire school extends a warm welcome to Mrs. Miller.
