There are many clubs within Prep that many may not know about, but they are still very enjoyable. Chess Club, Ski Club, the recently introduced Car Enthusiast Club, and many more offer a great way to spend some time with others in school that enjoy the same things you do. One such club that really deserves a bit more attention is the Gaming Club.
The Gaming Club meets about twice a month to play games. Any game is played as long as it’s a game that can be played with others, but for the moment the popular fighting game of choice is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a pretty fun time, and even if you feel like you don’t want to play, it’s also a good place just to talk about games as well. The Gaming Club typically runs from 3:00-4:30 p.m., so there is plenty of time to drop in to play a game and leave. Any games are welcome suggestions, and any console is up for use, as it is all provided by the club leaders.
“I really like Gaming Club since it’s a great way to test my skills, except when I’m against you,” said senior Daniel Cooper, one of the two Gaming Club leaders along with Anthony Nunez.
The Gaming Club is one of the smaller clubs within Prep, but it is still a nice community of many different grade levels that come together to enjoy and share some common ground with some people within the school you may not have expected to get along with. It’s a really fun way to play some of your favorite party games with others, and the moments of hype and excitement that come with are nothing short of amazing and hilarious, all at the same time.
The Gaming Club will also have a spot during the spring’s annual Spirit, Mind, and Body Day, and it is one of the bigger events due to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament and the Call of Duty tournament as well.
