The English department suffered a great loss this past year. One of Prep’s finest teachers, who I am proud to say I got to encounter, left us forever. Some called her Mrs. McKean, some called her Mom, others called her Linda. How she never won a Golden Apple is beyond me. At any rate she was a phenomenal teacher and will go down in Prep history as one of the best.
But as the summer went on, there was a glimmer of hope. Talk of a new female English teacher coming to us from Fairview started to emerge among the Prep student community. Most of the talk was about how this new staff member would be well versed in the areas of vocabulary and literature. As the first day rolled around, we realized that this and more was all very true. Let’s just say the juniors are a very lucky bunch.
I was lucky enough to interview the lovely new English teacher, Mrs. Kim, this past week.
We have high expectations for Mrs. Kim, and she certainly has some big shoes to fill. But I am confident in her abilities, and I think I speak for the entire Prep community, students included, when I say that we are more than happy to have you on board.
