Halloween is on the horizon with Thanksgiving and Christmas not too far behind. With the holiday season approaching, this week the staff answered the question: what is your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Christmas. All the childhood memories I have of staying and using Google’s Santa tracker to see when I would have to go to bed, making sure to be asleep before Santa comes. I love all the activities during Christmas time, like skating, making Christmas cookies and of course presents. What I like the most is spending time with my family. We always go see my grandma in New York City, and spending time with my entire family is always a great time.

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I personally love this holiday because my immediate family hosts all my family members at our house, and we make a huge dinner with all our favorite foods and traditions. It is a time when I get to be truly thankful for all the blessings in my life and can share special time with my loved ones. In my family, I take on the task of baking pumpkin pie, cookies, and bread for my family to enjoy. Watching the NFL football games and the Macy’s Day Parade are also a huge tradition in my house. What I also love is that as soon as Thanksgiving is over, everyone is excited for Christmas and starts enjoying the holiday season!

What is my favorite holiday? I would have to say Thanksgiving because the time I get to spend with family and friends. Watching football with my family and yelling at the television. The food is also another big reason in my family we go all out on Thanksgiving there’s always so much left over. The holiday in general is a great way to just eat as much as you can and spend time with loved ones.

My favorite holiday is Halloween. I like Halloween because to me it marks the beginning of the holiday season (October-December). It also is a very nostalgic holiday for me. When I was younger I loved trick-or-treating with my friends, and having our annual candy swap at the end of the night. Now, I love picking out a costume and hanging out with my friends.

Twilight is my favorite Halloween movie because I love seeing how a vampire can fall in love with a human. The movie follows a 17-year-old girl named Bella who just moved back in town to live with her dad. The town is named Forks, Washington, and this is where Bella will be spending her next school year. She has a few classes with Edward Cullen, who is a vampire and he becomes very interested in Bella very quickly. He feels compelled to get to know her for she is the only human he has ever encountered that he could not read their mind. They get to know each other and become very found with one another and he introduces her to his family that are also vampires, and they end up adoring Bell. In the end of the movie, Bella and Edward go to the school prom as each other’s dates, and Bella asks Edward to turn her into a vampire so she can be with him forever and not be without him, but he kisses her forehead instead of answering.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. That may be a common answer, but sometimes things are common for a reason. Christmas is such a fun time of year, especially in my family. We have my whole family get together in one house. There’s good food and fun memories. Plus, the presents never hurt.

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I always enjoy a day where the main objective it solely to just eat good food. I make sure to fill up my plate with a lot of mashed potatoes and green beans. I also enjoy spending the afternoon watching some quality football. Thanksgiving is also nice because the weather has not completely turned into garbage yet, so it presents an opportunity to take a look at all of the leaves one last time.
