Spring is here, which means ice cream shops are open for business all around town. This week the staff weighed in on their favorite local place to get ice cream as well as their go-to order.

My favorite ice cream place in Erie would have to be Sara’s. I love sitting by the water, and it’s always 10 times better when Sara’s is open. I usually get an orange-vanilla twist or a black raspberry milkshake. Their normal food is pretty good too.

My favorite place for ice cream in Erie is Sara’s at the peninsula. I love Sara’s because it is an Erie staple, and I always get ice cream with friends there and go to the beach or drive around after. It always reminds me of good vibes and sunshine. My favorite thing to get at Sara’s is a classic orange vanilla twist in a cone, or sometimes in a cup with sprinkles. I have been begging my friends to go there the past few weeks since they just opened on April 1, so I can’t wait to go and enjoy my first Sara’s treat of 2024!

My favorite ice cream is cookie dough. I love cookie dough ice cream. It’s always been my favorite since I was a kid. My favorite place to go though is Whippy Dip. When I go there I usually get blue moon. Blue moon is another one of my favorites. Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts in the world ever since I was younger.

My favorite ice cream place in Erie is probably Sara’s. It’s something I always look forward to once it opens up for the summer. It almost feels like a rite of passage to go there if you live in Erie. My favorite thing to get at Sara’s is a chocolate-vanilla twist cone with twinkles (mix of nuts and sprinkles). I love the extra crunch on this cone, and it’s the perfect summer treat.

This Easter break, I’m most looking forward to spending time outside. I’m really hoping that it turns warm considering there is still snow coming on and off. We had a false spring, and I fell for it. I can’t wait to play football at the beach or go fishing with my friends. I just want it to be warm.

I am most looking forward to just having some time to relax. Since this is my last vacation in high school, I want to hang out with some friends while I still have the time. I also want to catch up some reading that I have wanted to do but haven’t had the time. I have a small reading list that includes Animal Farm and 1984, as well as re-reading Fahrenheit 451 again. Besides that, I also am looking forward to having both Gannon and Prep off for a few days. That hasn’t happened since Christmas.
