Tonight, the crosstown rivals, Cathedral Prep and McDowell, face off against each other in the game of lacrosse at Gus Anderson field at 7 p.m. McDowell stole the first of two games. It was a long hard fought game that went back and forth many times. Sadly, McDowell scored their final goal making it 10-9 in the fourth quarter. This game is not just any ordinary game between two arch rivals, but it is a game where all the revenue gained from this event goes to a cancer research foundation.
Senior midfielder Ryan Bleggi is one of the keys to the Ramblers’ success. When asked what is their game plan for tonight’s big game, Bleggi said, “To win tonight’s game against McDowell we have to play our game this time, rather than play to theirs. I believe if we run our plays efficiently we should be open for easy goals. If we play sound defense and are making our shots I think we will walk away with a win tonight.”
He added, “It’s tough to lose any game, but especially when we lose to McDowell. That first game was so close and I really thought we could have won. I really want to beat them and I there is an opportunity for us to do just that tonight.”
Please come out and support our fellow 8-6 Ramblers as they take on the 6-6 McDowell Trojans to fight and raise money against the cruel disease of cancer. The game tonight is at 7 p.m. at McDowell’s Gus Anderson Field. Be there.
