The 2021-2022 Cathedral Prep basketball season is quickly approaching. The Ramblers are fresh off a state title in the 2020-2021 season, which was Prep’s first state title in basketball since 1993. The Ramblers trip to Hershey last year was special and will forever go down as a special moment in Cathedral Prep history.
Now, looking onward to the 2021-2022 season, the Ramblers have a lot to look forward to. The Ramblers lost several key players from last year, but they still have key players returning and some newcomers that will have a lot to provide for the Rambler basketball team.
Senior and team captain, Recce Colvin had some thoughts on the season ahead.
“I think our team can accomplish anything if we put the work in,” Reece said. :Last year we weren’t supposed to win states, but we did. I think if we have the same mentality as we did last year we can accomplish anything.”
The Ramblers also have some younger guys from last year stepping into bigger roles now as they turn into upperclassmen. Junior Jacob Sambuchino also had some thoughts on the younger guys stepping into bigger roles this season.
“Last year we had a lot of seniors that showed us how to win and achieve success,” Jacob said. Now it is our turn to carry on the legacy and make another run at states this year. I have all the faith in my teammates that we can get the job done”.
The Ramblers may have lost some key players from last year, but that doesn’t seem like it will change the mentality from the team this year.
The Ramblers began the season 1-1, defeating Knoch and losing to Butler. They play next in Las Vegas in the Tarkanian Classic against Pacifica Christian/Orange County tomorrow at 3:30.
