The Masters Tournament is back again for the 2025 season. Beginning April 10th, the best golfers in the world will compete at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia for the beloved green jacket. With several big name golfers returning to try and make this their year as well as young players wanting to make their mark, the Masters will definitely be an interesting tournament to watch this year
A few of the best golfers last year will be back to attempt to win once more. Former champion Scottie Scheffler is one of the better golfers in the recent past. Rory McIlroy is still seeking his first Masters victory, which would complete his career Grand Slam. Jon Rahm, a winner in 2023, will also be back. Fans will not get to watch the legend Tiger Woods compete, due to an injury he has suffered to his Achilles tendon
There are some young players also who could leave a massive impact. Sweden’s sensation Ludvig Åberg has been in good shape and could be showing some promise in this year’s tournament. A couple of other young stars, such as Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland, will also be in attendance, and they have already proven that they have the capability of winning majors.
Why do so many people want to watch the Masters? Well, the Masters stands out from the other golf tournaments in a number of ways. First, it is always held at Augusta National, which is one of the most beautiful but hardest courses for golfers in the world. The course itself is famous for its fast greens, difficult holes, and beautiful flowers, like the azaleas that blanket the course. Tradition is another thing that makes the Masters stand out. The winner receives a green jacket, which has been given to victors since 1949. There are also small events like the Par 3 Contest, where players and their family members can participate in some lighthearted competition before the real tournament. Additionally, spectators at Augusta get to enjoy watching their favorite last holes, especially the 12th and 13th, also referred to as “Amen Corner.”
The Masters is set to be played on April 10-13. It can be watched live on ESPN and CBS. Sunday’s final round will be the most exciting day because golfers battle it out for the championship on Augusta’s back nine. Will there be a past champion repeating once more, or a new champion to be crowned? Fans will have to wait and see.
