Nick’s Netflix Pick of the Week: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Ferris-Bueller-posterHave you ever wanted to skip school and get away with it? If you answered yes then I suggest you watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a classic movie that is loved by millions. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was released in the early summer of 1986.
The movie starts off showing Ferris telling his parents that he doesn’t feel well enough to go to school that day. His parents finally give in and let him stay home. Later Ferris calls his friend Cam who is actually sick, and convinces him to spend the day with him. He proceeds to go to Cam’s house and picks him up.
Through much convincing Ferris gets Cam to allow them to drive around his father’s 1961 Red Ferrari. They take the car out and head to school to pick up Ferris’ girlfriend, Sloane. They head to the historic downtown Chicago to spend the day there. Meanwhile the principal and Ferris’ sister both know that Ferris is faking and they are both out to get him.
While downtown, Ferris and his friends head to one of the fanciest restaurants in Chicago. While being denied to be seated for not having reservations, Ferris says he is Abe Froman, “the sausage king of Chicago.” While saying this he and his friends are prank calling the restaurant and eventually get a seat at the restaurant.
After they finish eating they head to Wrigley Field and catch a Cubs game. There the camera catches them and they are shown on TV. Ferris’ teacher walks by the TV when Ferris is on the screen but he doesn’t see it.
The movie has a great and funny ending, but I don’t want to ruin the ending of such an iconic movie. This movie has been loved by many for several years. After watching this classic film you will realize why this movie is such a fan favorite, and why it’s my Netflix Pick of the Week.
