On Tuesday, March 19, Andrea Bierer, director of marketing for DBC Remodeling & Construction, came to Cathedral Prep as a guest speaker. Bierer also spoke to the the BizPath students after her speech in the auditorium.

Her main focus was that we are better together. Jobs and companies thrive better when their employees are both male and female. Bierer also spoke of the new upcoming technology and how it is affecting generations to come. More opportunities and jobs will be available due to all the new uprising technology demands. It is a new era of time. With that, women and men should not hold themselves back from opportunities that they could thrive at but instead go forth and not allow the mindset of failure to destroy an individual’s life.

The mindset of failure will lead individuals to believe they are not capable of becoming successful, but that is far from the truth. The words that an individual shares influences them as well as the people around them. Having an open mindset and understanding humanity will allow security into one’s life. The acknowledgment that an individual will not thrive at everything they do will uplift that an individual and push them towards the goals they do well in. When finding humility within truth individuals can move forward with the things, they are good at.

Individuals should never hold back from the moment and goals that they yearn for. When getting into the mindset that something is impossible, it becomes impossible. Start with practicing gratitude to became patient with oneself. Gratitude can help individuals’ self-esteem, and with this confidence they can be able to achieve more out of life because they are already grateful for the things they have.

Bierer’s talk really touched a lot of individual’s hearts.

“I loved hearing about women leadership,”  it helps me to believe that I can truly accomplish anything I put my mind to,” junior Bella Martin said.
