Teacher Profile: Mr. Parsons

Teacher+Profile%3A+Mr.+Parsons

Mr. Parsons graduated from Cathedral Prep in 2005. From there he went to Gannon University. He subbed at Prep immediately following graduation and began full time at Prep the following year. He is currently in his 12th year at Cathedral Prep and hopes to stay for many years to come.

For Mr. Parsons, Prep has always meant a lot to him.

“It has always been a part of me,” Mr. Parsons said. “I believe so strongly in our mission of developing young men in spirit, mind, and body. I believe so strongly in our Catholic identity and am so proud of the fact we can talk about God in class. We can truly help the whole young man develop into an adult that is ready to go make the world a better place.”

Mr. Parsons was kind enough to share why students should come to Prep.

“Prep isn’t just a school; it is a family,” he said. “We truly look out for each other and always have each other’s back. We care about each other. We have the best academics, sports, and other extra-curricular anywhere, but above all we have the best people. We have the best students, faculty, staff, and administration. We put God first in all we do and try to develop the whole person to be able to use their gifts to make the world a better place.”

While speaking with Mr. Parsons I asked what his favorite memory was at Prep. He shared a very unique and inspirational answer.

“What stands out the most to me is really the day in and day out care and support we show one another every day,” he said. “I love being a part of this family and always will.”

Mr. Parsons is not only a great teacher, but a great man. He truly lives out Prep’s mission in developing men and women, in spirit, mind and body.
