With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Cathedral Prep is preparing for one of the most meaningful traditions of the season—Giving Day, coming up this Thursday, Nov. 20. As families everywhere reflect on gratitude and giving back, the Prep community is rallying to support students, strengthen programs, and make a difference during a time of year when generosity means the most.
The school is encouraging students, alumni, families, and supporters to participate in this year’s Giving Day by contributing to the Fund for Excellence. The event follows last year’s remarkable success, and Prep hopes to build on that momentum to reach an even greater goal this year.
Last year’s goal was $300,000. More than 325 generous alumni and donors gave a total of $373,021 to the Fund for Excellence to exceed that goal.
That success has set the tone for this year’s Giving Day, especially as Impact Week continues to shine a spotlight on how generosity fuels Cathedral Prep’s mission.
According to cathedralprep.com, Impact Week is designed to celebrate the impactful ways generosity transforms Prep’s community. Each day, Cathedral Prep will shine a spotlight on a different area where support makes a difference.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Prep leaders say the spirit of giving is especially meaningful, reminding the community that donations support essentials ranging from classroom materials to tuition assistance.
The donations help to ensure that essential resources are available while also enhancing Prep’s financial aid programs, which makes a Cathedral Prep education more accessible to a wider range of students
The site also notes that contributions fund everything from athletic uniforms to theater costumes to experiential learning opportunities.
This Friday’s Giving Day is also an opportunity for the community to unite behind a shared mission—one that shapes students academically, spiritually, and personally.
As cathedralprep.com puts it, “Giving Day is more than just a fundraiser. It’s the day our entire community rallies together to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.”
