This week the staff flipped things around and envisioned themselves as teachers. Read on to find out what they would teach if they had the chance.

I would teach a class on getting to know oneself. For a while, I lived for everything else but what mattered to me, the happiness that came from the validation I got for living how others thought I should live ceasing once I realized that my life was not my own. After years of self-reflection and learning more about myself, I have begun living for myself and what matters most to me. I would like to share the knowledge that I gained on my personal journey with others so they too can begin living for themselves and what matters most to them.

I would teach history. Right now it’s my best class, and I have an A average. I’ve always been good in history since I was little and I’ve had big interest in it to. I feel like history is also one of the most important subjects because something’s just can’t be or shouldn’t be forgotten.

I would want to teach about movies. If I got to teach about movies, half the curriculum would be about watching a movie and then getting to talk about it. I think not enough people watch movies, so I think it would be fun to show people movies and have them understand them and learn what makes them great. Homework and tests would be easy as well. You watch the movie and answer questions about what happened in the movie, easy as that. I think it would be a fun class for students because its not as stressful as other topics but still learning about new things.

I would chose world history. I have been fascinated by history since I was very young. There’s often a lot of things we are taught about history that are untrue and not being well informed about these topics is detrimental. It is importantly that young people know their history and how events of the past impact is all now in the present and will continue to do so in the future. I would want to teach history to ensure people learn accurately about it.
