Cathedral Prep’s Spring Sports Assembly brought students, teachers, and faculty together to celebrate a year of accomplishments in athletics. The auditorium was filled with excitement as teams and individuals were recognized for their dedication and achievements. The atmosphere felt proud and energetic, showing how much these moments mean to the Prep community.
One highlight of the assembly came when Senior Fina Bannister was honored for her accomplishments in cross country, indoor track, and track and field. She received several awards, including the Patty Doubet award and the cross country award for being the top runner this past season. Reflecting on the event, she said, “I thought the assembly went very smoothly and did a nice job at recognizing all the individuals who worked hard in athletics over the past school year. It also gave underclassmen motivation to work hard and fill the shoes of those receiving awards and graduating.” Her words captured the purpose of the assembly perfectly, which was not only to celebrate success but also to inspire younger students to follow in the footsteps of those being recognized.
Another highlight was the recognition of the swim team for its state championship title. When the team was called to the stage, the crowd erupted with cheers.
Sophomore Andrew Dutchcot described how meaningful that moment was for him.
“I went on stage to see the Swim Team’s State Championship banner,” he said. “It was an amazing experience to see something that will be hung at our home pool, showing that this team left a lasting impression.”
His excitement showed how proud the athletes were of what they accomplished together.
Overall, Cathedral Prep’s Spring Sports Assembly celebrated the dedication, teamwork, and spirit that define the school community while encouraging students to continue striving for excellence in everything they do.
